Welcome!
A Little History...
On June 1, 2015, the families of St. Bede School were informed that in order for our school to continue to operate the following year, we needed to become financially independent of the Archdiocese of Chicago, which no longer had sufficient funds to support us. We were faced with the daunting task of raising $240,000 by December 1, 2015.
We rallied. We hosted a golf outing, an auction and dinner, a rummage sale, sporting tournaments, and numerous other events and activities. Families came together and made extra contributions. Parishioners donated at mass each month. Local businesses sponsored fundraising nights out.
The Parents' Association decided to host a 1-Mile Fun Run, 5K Walk/Run, and 10K Run. They planned for 100 people and hoped to make a few thousand dollars.
The event drew over 400 participants and raised $12,434.69.
We saved our school.
Due to the tremendous success, we made it an annual event!
